Story
In June 2019, my dad Ray Winn was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately it is a very severe cancer due to symptoms appearing late & a diagnosis often not being made until the cancer is very advanced, as was the case for my dad.
Luckily we got in touch with Pancreatic Cancer UK for support! I can't describe how vital the amazing support & critical advice they gave to us was. From giving important medical advice & explaining everything clearly, to daily phone calls comforting our worries & concerns.
I genuinely believe the key information & advice they gave from the onset & every step of the way helped prolong my dad's brave battle against cancer, helping my dad fight far beyond the average prognosis.
After sadly losing his battle in April 2021, I am running this marathon in memory of him & to help raise vital funds for the incredible & important work Pancreatic Cancer do.
Any donation is honestly appreciated so much & would mean the world to me & my family!
Thank you
It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case. Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to taking on this injustice using every possible means. They're supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future. Help them to make the breakthroughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need.
