Story
In 2016, I rekindled my love of Psychology at a time when I was lost; not knowing what I should do or what path I should take. I read every Psychology book I could get my hands on and applied to University.
I started studying Psychology BSc. in 2017 and graduated in 2020. I am currently working on completing my second degree, Health and Clinical Psychological Sciences MSc.
I have been working for the NHS in a variety of roles since 2020. I first started my work as a Planning Advisor for the NHS in Sussex.
For the past year and a half I have been working for the Trauma Informed Care team with the NHS in Surrey; carrying out research, producing training and facilitating training about Trauma Informed Care to various members of staff in mental health services.
I now have a clinical role in an NHS Crisis Team; helping those in the midst of a mental health crisis. I am also still Digital Advisor and working with Surrey County Council on the Changing Futures programme.
Studying and working in Psychology, I truly appreciate the value of this work and the value of organisations like Mind. After a tumultuous decade or so filled with self-doubt and without any direction; I now have purpose, I am self-assured in my value and I am realising my potential.
