Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.

We are a group of friends Harrison, Alfie, Owen, Luke, Hadley, George, Navun, Liam, Riley, Lenny and have decided to run 5k to help raise money towards granting a dream for a local children's charity called The Dream Factory.

The Dream Factory grants dreams to children and young adults between the age of 3 to 25 years who suffer from life threatening, life limiting conditions or have severe disabilities. To date they have granted over 490 dreams and their aim is to grant their 500th dream before the end of 2020.

We all go to Emerson Park Academy and are in year 9,  when we heard about the charity and their 500th dream challenge, we really wanted to help raise money towards granting a dream for another child.

The money we raise will go towards Jacobs Dream so please help us reach our target and sponsor us.

JACOBS DREAM

Jacob is 5 years old and a truly amazing little boy.

When Jacob was born he had no heartbeat and was resuscitated for 22 mins.

He was transferred to Guys & St Thomas hospital in London where doctors gave him less than a 1% survival rate because of the amount of damage to his brain. He was diagnosed with HIE grade 3 brain damage to the Pallidus, Basal Ganglia, Grey Matter, Occipital Lobe.

After 12 days Jacob was transferred back to his local hospital where he spent another two weeks.

He was then discharged and continued daily treatment and weekly physio sessions at home.

Doctors told his parents that due to the amount of damage to Jacobs Brain he will never be able to walk or talk and will spend his life in a wheelchair.

Jacob has defied the doctors and they cannot believe he can now walk and talk and even ride his bike. He recently took part in the 2.6 challenge and raised money for The Dream Factory to help grant children’s dreams. Jacob was so inspired by The Dream Factory that he became an Ambassador.

Jacob loves Disney and The Dream Factory cannot wait to grant his Dream and arrange a lovely family trip to Disneyland Paris as soon as it is safe to travel.

Together with your help we can make Jacobs Dream a very special memory for him and his family

Thank you from

Harrison, Alfie, Owen, Luke, Hadley, George, Navun, Liam, Riley, Lenny
