Hector's House is a local charity that was set up in memory of Hector Stringer, who tragically took his own life at the age of 18 on 20th April 2011.  Hector was an ex-pupil of Tring School, where my daughter now attends.  The school continues to support and work very closely with the family and the charity.

The charity focuses on suicide prevention.  All monies raised help to fund crisis lines and counselling, where there is a financial access constraint, together with providing financial resources and delivering education within schools in mental and emotional well-being.

I have set myself the ambitious target of running 500 miles (all outdoor) during 2018.  I only took up running again in May 2017 when I joined a local Couch to 5k group, after a 5 year+ absence from any form of exercise!  This year I will take on at least two half-marathons as part of my challenge, along with a number of other smaller events.
