Getting the heart racing on Ben Nevis

Jake Kitt is raising money for British Heart Foundation

Ben Nevis · 6 May 2022

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Hello! Thanks for clicking on my page, I promise it won’t take too long to read!

On 7th May 2022, with zero experience, I will be climbing Britain’s highest mountain, the mighty Ben Nevis!! Joined by a group of friends and colleagues, we will be climbing the north face of Ben Nevis via the Carn Mor Dearg Arete route, just to add a little extra challenge to the mix!

At 1,345m high, a 17.5km (11 miles) long trail and an estimated 10 hour walk/scramble….. or crawl, hopefully it is going to be a real hard slog to make it all worthwhile!

…………and all of this in the name of charity!!

The important bit………

The charity I will be climbing Ben Nevis for is the British Heart Foundation. As some of you that are kindly reading this may or may not know, I sadly lost my mum at the young age of 57 last year to a heart condition none of us, not even she, knew about. With lockdown after lockdown this has made it even more difficult as our time together as a family over the past 2 years has been hit and miss to say the least. So to help stop someone losing a loved one, this is my way of helping the British Heart Foundation.

Why the British Heart Foundation I hear you ask…… well, the BHF fund around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases. Stroke. Vascular dementia. Diabetes. They're all connected, and they're all under their microscope. With every donation that is made, the BHF can continue to do what they do best - life saving research and support for heart patients.

Thank you for reading, I hope I haven’t sent you to sleep!!! I hope you can donate whatever you can and hopefully little old me crawling up Ben Nevis will help someone, somewhere!

If you pay UK tax, add GIFT AID, it’s doesn’t cost you anything but makes a huge difference in helping the British Heart Foundation!!
