Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 5th July, and for the third consecutive year, I was going to take part in the London 10k raising funds for WheelPower, the charity based at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, birthplace of the Paralympic movement. They help disabled children and adults take part in sport.

The London 10k has now been cancelled due to the Corona Virus and not wanting WheelPower to miss out on fundraising, I have decided to organise my own fundraising event.

On Sunday 5th July 2020, I will be walking 667 laps (equivalent to 20k) around my back garden in aid of WheelPower. This will be very challenging as not only will I be doing it through the night, I AM REGISTERED BLIND. I am hoping to complete this in around 5 hours.

WheelPower like so many charities across the UK, has been hugely impacted by the cancellation of fundraising events due to COVID-19. In fact, they expect their fundraising to be reduced by half because of the virus.

PLEASE dig deep and support WheelPower during these difficult and demanding times, they are a wonderful charity and do great things for disabled wheelchair bound children and adults. They are currently raising funds to keep disabled people active in their own homes during these unprecedented times; so important for mental health and well-being.

Thanking you all in anticipation.

Jim
