Story
On the 8th April I will be running the Greater Manchester Marathon in aid of the Pahar Trust Nepal. This is a great charity that aims to help improve education and health services for remote communities in Nepal, to enable some of the world's poorest children to receive a high standard of education. Nepal is the 28th poorest country in the world and my aim is to raise money for Gilung School in the Lamjung area which was badly effected by the April 25th 2015 Gorkha Earthquake. The earthquake measured a 7.8 magnitude the worst of its kind in over 80 years, which struck 50km away from Gilung school, killing 9,000 people and a further 23,000 injured. Funding has already gone into renovating the damage to the school, however the Pahar Trust is still short. With your help, we will be able to complete the renovations to the main building, to repair the cracks and damage to the structure. The 260 children of Gilung school are really passionate to learn, many of whom walk a 4 hour round trip just to go to school. With your help we hope to give these children an improved chance in this world that they deserve.
