Story

Thanks for supporting my fundraising.

My mum - Hilary, passed away in 2022 after living with cancer for 2 years whilst the world was in and out of covid lockdowns. I had never paid as much attention as I should have when learning of others facing cancer as you never believe it will happen to you or your family.

Given the lockdowns and not knowing how to process what was happening  I went online and used Macmillans as a resource to learn and understand more about what my mum was facing, how to deal with it as a family member and how to talk to my children about what “Granny Abu” was going through.

The information they provide, the support they can give and assistance if you want it is invaluable which is why I chose Macmillans to support for this event.

Please donate! If you know me you’ll know I’m a bit of a larger human who suffers from a lack of fitness and is more likely to frequent a restaurant or pub than go for a run or do exercise!

This is the first of many challenges I want to take-on to continue to raise awareness and funds for those charities that supported our family during a pretty rubbish period of time!
