Story
As many of you are aware in November 2009 I lost my mother to depression. This was a year after I lost my uncle, her brother, in a similar manner. Both of these events left irreplaceable voids in both immediate families and extended to friends and acquaintances too. They had massive impacts on all that knew them. The pain it has caused has been immense.
Various types and severities of mental illnesses have affected other friends and members of my family too which have left them needing various types of treatment.
Therefore I have decided to put my body through the extremes again to raise money for rethink mental illness. I will be running an ultramarathon comprising of 35 miles over variable terrain ranging from 12m above sea level to 215m above. So I'm imagining a few hills.
Rethink Mental Illness are a great charity who offer excellent services to those most vulnerable and who need it most. They provide nursing, residential care, assisting with housing, community support, and cater support amongst other services. One in four people suffer from mental illness and suicide is the biggest cause of death for 10-34. Rethink Mental Illness are helping reduce this. So if the money I raise saves one person's life and stops other people going through what our family has then it will be worth it.
Every step and blister will be done in memory of my mum. So please sponsor what you can
