Story
My name is James and I am running the 2024 London Marathon to raise money for Heart Research UK in memory of my father.
On August 13th last year my family lost a husband and father to coronary heart disease after battling the illness for a number of years. Ten months on, we miss him terribly and are trying to fill the void his death has left as best we can.
Coronary heart disease is a major cause of death in the U.K and is a common condition where the blood flow to the heart is interrupted by a build-up of fatty substances in the coronary arteries. It is the leading cause of heart attacks.
In memory of my father, I have decided (and will probably come to regret!) to run the London Marathon on Sunday 21st April 2024. I am running on behalf of Heart Research UK, with all donations going towards the funding of pioneering research and education in to the prevention, treatment and cure of heart diseases.
I would like to thank you in advance for reading this and for all donations (big, small or even just a share), are greatly appreciated.
