Help James Walk

James' Dreams - the power of social media · 11 June 2016
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I would like to introduce you to James a really lovely 6yr old boy from Rowley Regis in the West Midlands who has Cerebral Palsy
I realise most of you that I am trying to reach out to for a donation will not know either James or myself, and therefore this is a big ask, especially where so many people these days are asking for support. The bottom line is James' family need to raise £40,000 for an operation that will change his life forever - it will give him the chance to be able to walk unaided, instead of spending the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
The target is SO big its daunting!! His mum has been working so hard to raise awareness of James's condition and raise funds for his operation, but its hard when she is also working full time and trying to bring up 3 children. The target amount is so overwhelming.
So why am I getting involved? Well I happen to know someone who knows James, and who's daughter sees him every day in the playground trying to keep up with his friends using his walking frame. We have started fundraising through our department at work for James and are already making progress towards a £2500 target. BUT as generous as people are that we work with we will never be able to make a significant enough dent in the £40k target, so we need to come up with other ideas...
SO....I have decided to try and use the powers of social media to see if we can get James his life changing Operation.
We are not asking for people to donate much - just the minimum amount JustGiving will accept which is £2) - the cost of a cup of coffee or some snacks maybe? I like to think everyone could perhaps sacrific that for just one day, to help change a little boys life? So.....if enough people just donate £2 , and enough people share the link and ask all their friends to just donate £2 and again share the link, then we can create a big enough wave to smash James's target.
Lets between us put the powers of social media to the test!!! I have seen it work so well for others and feel passionate about seeing if through the powers of social media we can make James' dream come true.
If you are reading this then quite likely you have donated or are thinking about donating so for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart :-)
