Story
On May 11th 1991, my Father, Leo Lindemann took his own life at the young age of 44. Yes, he had suffered with depression but really should he be taking his own life? The impact it has on those who are left behind is huge! Speaking to people is the answer! Do not suffer in silence.
On May 11th 2021, I will be walking 26 miles in Leeds on one day, to raise awareness for mental health and to prevent suicide. I am being joined along the way by friends who have been amazing to me throughout my 30 years of what has been a rollercoaster of a life. However, I am here to tell the story and say, there is a solution to mental health problems. It will be ok... if you speak to people.
My chosen charity is CALM, the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) who are leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. Please kindly donate what you can and stand up against suicide. Suicide has to stop!!!
There goal is a life less miserable for you, your friends, your family and for all men.CALM PROVIDES> A free and anonymous helpline 0800 58 58 58 and webchat (5pm-12am daily) staffed by trained professionals> Bereavement support > A website www.theCALMzone.net with inspiring content> Campaigns tackling stereotypes of masculinity, suicide and mental health.
