Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

I have decided to do the Longmynd hike. It is overnight and follows a set figure-of-eight route over 50 miles, up, down, around and over the rugged countryside of South Shropshire and the Welsh Marches, with about 8,000 feet of climbing covering eight summits. I start at 13:00 hours on Saturday 2nd October from Church Stretton and the goal is to complete the course in under 24 hours.

I want to try and raise £1000 for The Stroke Association - with your help i will hopefully do this and them some! I think most people know someone who has suffered a stroke - i have had a friend, Uncle, Grandmother and my own Dad, so i guess this is why i have chosen this charity. Also, strokes seem to be hereditary, so am maybe helping myself for the future!!
