Story
Dear Friends,
It was about this time last year when Maudy and I came up with the plan to enter the Mongol Derby 2014. In all honesty neither of us expected to get past the interview stage let alone make the final cut of 45 riders.
Rather naively, at first I thought it would just be a straight forward ride across the plains of Mongolia with one of my closest friends. However, from my delayed research, I have learnt that we are in for a much tougher challenge. Dubbed the longest horse race on the planet, The Mongol Derby is certainly the toughest as we will attempt to cover 1000km in just ten days.
Part of this challenge now involves doing as much as I can for my chosen charity. Clare Milford Haven has very kindly agreed to let me ride for the James Wentworth Stanley Memorial Fund, it is a real honour for me to do so, and I am hugley excited to be able to support them. James and I enjoyed some great times together in Argentina and indeed at home playing polo at Cowdray. I truly hope that you can all get behind me and support the cause by spreading the word amongst your friends and family, and by donating something towards this very worthy charity.
The race starts on the 6th August, so with just over four months to go, it's time to get cracking!
