Story
Me and Jodie are gearing up to complete the Get Fit in Feb 84km Challenge for Alder Hey Children's Hospital next month! Our children will also be contributing towards the 84km where we will be running junior park runs as a family.
We decided to take on this challenge because our son quickly became friends with a wonderful little boy when he started school in September. Tragically, just a few short weeks into the school year, this brave boy was diagnosed with leukaemia, which, as you can understand, has been completely devastating for him and his family.
The toll that treatment takes on such a young child is heartbreaking. Despite these challenges, this incredible child continues to face every day with a smile and a fighting spirit and will often pop to the school door to say hello to his friends.
Alder Hey does incredible work for children and their families, providing care and support during the toughest times. We want to contribute to their amazing efforts by raising funds through our JustGiving page. Every little bit helps, and we are grateful for any support you can offer.
To make our contribution even more impactful, my employer has generously agreed to double any money we raise, up to £500!
While we ask that you respect the privacy of our son's friend and his family, we hope to highlight how anyone can be affected by such heartbreaking news. Let's come together to support Alder Hey and make a difference in the lives of children and their families.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
