In 2013 I took part in the Race for Life in Clumber Park four days after being diagnosed with kidney cancer and the day before Chris (my husband) was diagnosed with colon cancer. We benefitted from great care and new advances in cancer treatment and four years on are enjoying life without cancer. In 2014 I again took part in the Race for Life, this time at the Embankment Nottingham and managed to raise nearly £800. Since then both Chris and I have been raising money by making gifts of stained glass, necklaces, scarves and bags we have made and by asking our friends and family to donate money to Cancer Research. In 2017, I was joined in the Race for Life 5km Walk for Life by my daughter Emily and granddaughter Lily and raised over £600.We also had two coffee mornings in 2017, raising an additional £200 for Cancer Research. We hope to continue to raise money so that others can benefit from new cancer treatments discovered through research.
