Thank you for taking the time to read my story I'm raising money for Kings College Critical care unit adults and children. My son Dan was in Kings for a week after a car accident we as a family stayed by his side never leaving the staff were brilliant from drs nurses cleaning staff we didn't feel like just another family of a patient they took their time explaining everything to us even got us a room so we could shower and each try and get some sleep even though we chose as a family to stay in the waiting room to be close to Dan. Unfortunately our cheeky always smiling son lost his life 2 weeks before his s 18th birthday our hearts were broken and our life was never going to be the same. But we couldn't just walk away from Kings without doing something to say thank you to each and everyone there so because our son was a keen cricketer we decided to have a memorial match we started of small but this year we are bigger we have raised over £20.000 which dosnt seem a lot for all the hours the drs and nurses put in but I don't want another family to go through what we did so all we can raise goes to the critical care units for adults and children. The day is full of laughter which our Dan would be so proud off we have a great raffle and tombola on the day for adults and children. So many companies donate and all the locals turn up for what is for a great cause. We can't thank Kings College Hospital enough for what they did and this is our thank you and we will carry on having our Memorial Day for our gorgeous son Dan. So please help me carry on helping Kings thank you from a mum who's heart is still broken
