Story
I lost my mother to Alzheimer's and that meant loosing her more than once. To watch the cycle of a bright, witty woman, lost and confused and then back and then gone again is devastating for those close. I can't imagine how frightening it felt to suffer it.
Shaving my head would have amused her greatly. My hair will grow back but we knew she would never 'get better'.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
