Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have always wanted to do a marathon. Every year I watch the London Marathon on TV, get goosebumps and think I want to be there running ! So last year I decided to go for it and entered the ballot in May, but sadly in October I found out I was unsuccessful. I had started some training in preparation and was disappointed not to get a place, so I opted to try for a charity place . I picked RNIB for several reasons : My Gran is aged 92years and has to be one of the strongest and most admirable people I know. She was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration over 10 years ago and for someone who was so independent, active and skilled at handcrafts, losing her sight was devastating. However, due to her attitude and determination she continues to strive on. Not everyone losing their eyesight would behave like Gran and the RNIB can help ; Working as a GP I see people daily with visual problems and only want to help people get the services they require to have a quality life with as much independence as possible.

I love running but a marathon is a huge challenge . I have run for years but the longest distance is a half marathon. Training is time consuming and life is a constant juggle . Thankfully with the help of my supporters I will remain determined and focused to not only run 26.2 miles but also to achieve my target for the RNIB.

Thank you to all who will help me !
