On May 20th we, Jan, Rob, Keith, Emma and Lucy (also known as Nanny Janny, Daddy, great uncle Keith and cousins Emma and Lucy) will be attempting to complete the Nottingham Outlaw half iron-distance triathlon to raise money for the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Basildon University Hospital as a "thank you" for looking after Maggie, our granddaughter/daughter/great niece and cousin in the early days of her life.

Maggie was born7 weeks prematurely  on 9 January 2018 weighing just 2lb14oz and was taken straight to NICU where she spent the first six weeks of her life. The care she received was excellent and the kindness and compassion of every member of staff that crossed her path did not go unnoticed. 

We would like to raise some much-needed funds for NICU to help them to continue to do the fantastic work they do, day in day out, as part of a very stretched NHS service.

Whilst we were already signed up to compete in the race before Maggie's untimely arrival, we have been able to train with a renewed vigour and have all used her little face as motivation for the long training hours of running and pedalling in the rain, or thrashing about in the pool.

Anything you can give will be gratefully received and put to good use.
