Story
most demanding charity fundraising challenge yet. Starting in each of the four UK nations, they will have their mental and physical resolve tested to the limit
as they think, climb, cycle and run their way to the finish to raise funds for Mental Health UK.
Day 1 – Testing your ‘mental agility’
This will be a test of our participants’ mental resolve – a work out for the brain but easy on the body as they prepare for the physically demanding part of Fourtitude. If they solve the challenge there may be some helpful items for the days ahead...Once participants have made it through our first challenge.
Day 2 – Scale the highest mountain in the country
- Scotland – Ben Nevis at 1,345 metres
- Wales – Snowdon at 1,085 metres
- England – Scafell Pike at 978 metres
- Northern Ireland – Slieve Donard at 850 metres.
Day 3 – 100 mile cycle with 4000’ elevation gain in the Peak District
Here colleagues come together before tackling a gruelling 100 mile cycle with over 2,600 metres of ascent in the Peak District taking in the
breath-taking scenery and overcoming those intense climbs. There will be encouraging support as they pass through the refuelling stations along the way to keep the team going! After a long stint in the saddle, the team will be taken to the final overnight stay at Solihull Training Centre as they prepare for one final push the next day.
Day 4 – Half Marathon in Birmingham
Having thought, hiked and biked, the fourth and final day of the challenge will see the team run, jog or walk a half marathon along canal tow paths taking them into the heart of Birmingham and then on to the journey finish. As they cross the line united as one, there will a celebratory event to congratulate the team and recognise how their remarkable efforts will make a difference.
The event culminates in Birmingham which will be the home of the
pioneering Mental Health and Money Advice Service – the ultimate goal of our fundraising for Mental Health UK.
