Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving Page - I can now tell you a little bit more about why I am asking for your kind donation.

As some of you may know (and if you didn't you do now :)), I enjoy cycling and I love being out on my bike riding around Guernsey (especially in the Summer).

In order to take my love for cycling to the next level, I have signed up to do participate in the Tour of Roses in 2023. In short, the Tour of Roses consists of 50 riders cycling from Guernsey to Avignon in France (near the Italian Boarder). We will be cycling 1700km (over 10 days) with a total elevation (climbing) of 16,000m.

But that isn’t even the best or most exciting part – the best part about this Tour is that we are doing it to try and raise funds for the Smile for Georgie Foundation, who have various community projects in Guernsey on the go (and in the pipeline).

So, why not come on this adventure with me and make a small donation towards my fundraising pot. You will see I am hoping to raise £2,300. My fundraising page can be accessed here:  Any donation (big or small) will be very much appreciated and will certainly motivate me to take on next 5 months of training and the ten days of the Tour. If you wish to follow my training (and indeed each stage of the Tour), I will be positing frequent updates on my JustGiving and/or Facebook page.

About the charity

Following the tragic road traffic accident in July of 2017 the family of Georgie Le Prevost wanted to do something positive and decided to raise money through a sponsored, tandem parachute jump with Jersey skydive. Annie and Jenny Le Prevost were overwhelmed with the immense public support and generosity of Guernsey people who made a vast number of donations to their Just Giving page. This generosity prompted the family to consider ways in which they could make a positive contribution to the Island in memory of Georgie and this is how the concept of the “Smile For Georgie Foundation” emerged. The Foundation was officially registered on the 31st January 2018, with the purpose of making a difference and bringing smiles to the people of Guernsey through small acts of kindness. Those who knew Georgie will appreciate the positive contribution she made to life and the smile she had for everyone. The Foundation intends to reflect her personality in all that is does and looks forward to receiving ongoing public support that will ensure its success
