Story
On February 8th 2011 I am setting off to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro with my daughter Olivia. We are raising funds for Nightingale, a care home in Wandsworth for eldery members of the Jewish community which provides amazing care and is very close to my heart. It is where my father lived for the last 8 years of his life.
At the height of his mental powers he was the leading tuberculosis physician in the world, working not only in the UK but also with communities around the developing world including in Tanzania. As he aged he suffered the harsh effects of dementia. Nightingale provided an outstanding level of care when the time came that he needed looking after and it became impossible to provide the 24 hour care he needed at home
I am raising money specifically for the state of the art dementia unit which Nightingale will open later this year. There is more information about Nightingale and the fantastic work it does if you click on the link on the left of the page.
I will personally cover 100 per cent of the actual costs of the trip, so you can be assured that every pound you give will go directly to Nightingale, with absolutely none going towards the trip's costs.
So please support me, the memory of my father and, most of all, support Nightingale.
A big, big thank you!
