Story
On Saturday 30th April I will start the first day of a three day mountain biking challenge from one side of the UK to the other. The total distance I have to cover on my mountain bike is 165 miles. The challenge starts at Whitehaven and ends in Sunderland.
I am doing the challenge so that with the encouragement and help from my family and friends I can raise money for the Kisima School in Kenya.
The school provides secondary education to 160 boys and girls from the Northern Frontier District of Kenya, one of the most remote and neglected areas of the world.
These children will be the future leaders of their communities and it is hoped that through education they will feel empowered to make lasting and sustainable changes to end decades of strife, war and dependency.
Kisima is now in its seventh year and its success has been impressive - it currently ranks 66th among all the secondary schools in the country.
Kisima is funded by The Educational Frontier Trust (TEFT), a small charity run by volunteers which ensures that all money donated goes directly to the school.
Kisima could not survive without the money raised by TEFT.
Every penny raised by my mountain biking challenge goes directly to the School and makes a crucial difference.
