Running for the NHS Β· 25 May 2020

NHS Charities Together and its members across the UK are hugely grateful for the support received from so many since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our thank you to the NHS -

So the purpose of the original challenge was threefold:

  1. To raise money for the NHS.
  2. To do something together that is both positive and memorable.
  3. To get the kids (hopefully) into running

The original challenge was for the kids to run a minimum of 1 mile a day reaching a distance of 26.2 miles (a marathon) between 1st -25th May and for me to run 3 miles a day (1 with them and 2 alone).

Despite twisted ankles and falls (us Larners are not natural runners) we’ve all managed to reach our set distances ahead of target. Erin & Aiden both reached 26.2 miles on the 21st May and I achieved 79 miles on the 23rd May.

However we have not yet reached our fundraising target so we’ve extended our distance and timescale by entering the 'runFAR May challenge'. We will now run for the entire month, and hopefully between us achieve a total of 185 miles (7 marathons). The kids jointly will run a total of 80 miles (they are already on 60 miles). Fingers crossed we can do it. 🀞
