Story

Okay, so its taken me a little while to figure out just what to do, to raise money for the Fraser Ward and Oncology department at the City Hospital who so very cleverly saved my life and have ensured to this day that I'm cancer free!!

I attempted to train for the half marathon and for the great Notts bike ride, needless to say that didn't work out so well for one reason or another and I haven't done either!!

So on 16th June I shall be jumping out of an aeroplane (tandem style of  course!) courtesy of an event arranged by Nottingham Hospital Charity.

For me, this will honestly be just as scary as battling Cancer!!

Any donation will be greatly received to help those who saved my life continue to save and help so many more! Every penny counts :)

Here's the standard blurb:

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

NOW THE JUMP IS DONE!!!

I’ve been thinking a lot about why the jump felt like the right thing to do to help me raise money for the hospital ………..

On reflection, the skydive was very much like my fight with cancer – the incredible amount of fear at the unknown, trusting your life in the hands of others, being resigned to the fact you have no control over what’s happening or going to happen, going along and doing as your told to increase your chances of survival, then the fantastic moment the parachute opens reflects the relief of hearing ‘It’s gone and you are now in remission’ or ‘you are still all clear’.  Then it’s just a case of sitting back and enjoying the view and getting the most out of everything else life has to throw at you!

Was definitely worth doing :)

Thank you so very much for taking the time to at least look at my page!
