Moonlight Rhino Conservation Walk · 15 June 2019
Rhinos are at their most vulnerable on full moonlit nights, when they are most likely to be violently attacked and killed for their horns - mothers and calves included. I and some of my fellow Plumpton students and tutors were recently privileged to visit the reserve where the Endangered Rhino Conservation team are based and learnt about how they work ceaselessy to protect these increasingly rare and beautiful creatures on very limited resources. To understand what they face on a daily basis is not for the faint hearted. Our walk on next week's full moon is our small direct contribution to support their efforts.
