We are running the London Marathon in October 2021 in memory of our Dad - Owen Harrington. Our Dad was the bravest, most humble and tenacious man who was taken from us too soon, there is not a day that goes by that we don’t think about him. Whilst running a marathon is going to be the toughest physical and mental challenge either of us has undertaken, the courage and strength our Dad showed throughout his battle with cancer and memory of him will power us through (hopefully!!)

Whilst we weren’t able to run the marathon last year, 2020 marked 10 years since we lost our Dad, and our mission is to raise awareness of the cruel disease that took him from us so that others don’t lose their loved ones in the same way we did.

We have chosen St Catherine’s Hospice as they were so supportive of our Dad in his final chapter of his life and to our family after we lost him. They treated our Dad like a person, not a patient and provided our family comfort during the worst time of our lives - we hope no-one has to go through what we did as a family, but we want to support a charity who will help those that do.

St Catherine’s vision is for a world where everyone facing death and bereavement can do so informed, supported and pain free. Their team of experts are there for people in West Sussex and East Surrey when they need support the most, and they rely on donations to be able to offer their pioneering care.
