I am running the 2025 Edinburgh Half Marathon in memory of my mum, Karen. I wanted to do something that would be a challenge and would give me time to reflect on all my memories of mum. This will be especially hard for me as running is not my forte and I gave birth to Arlo in July (who mum would have loved to have met). My training will be running along the Tynemouth coast which mum loved so much, I can see her everywhere, in her hi-vis jacket with windswept hair.

I decided to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support as mum found their help and advice really useful after her cancer diagnosis. If you can spare a small amount of money then that would be much appreciated so they can continue to support people.
