Story
Hello there & many thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Now, I have no mechanical abilities and absolutely no medical knowledge whatsoever...and I rather struggle with foreign languages.
Therefore what could be more logical than to drive a European ambulance from London to Tajikistan along the old Silk Road!
So that is what I will do over several months this summer, starting out on July 9th. In the process I will cross Europe, the Balkans, Turkey, ancient Persia & the mighty Pamir Mountains ("The Roof of the World"). This should see me attempting to navigate some of the planet's hottest deserts, climbing the Middle East's highest mountain in Iran (Mt Damavand 5671m) and finally traversing the Pamir Highway, the second highest road in the world - driving well over 5000m in an ambulance!
The aim is to raise money for projects in Tajikistan run by Save the Children & Sworde-Teppa through UK charity Go Help, and to donate a much needed ambulance to Save the Children in Tajikistan.
The expedition coincides with the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence and aims to help the people who need it most in this war-torn and very poor country.
So now, while I research the rumour that a leaking radiator can be fixed with a raw egg, please dig deep and sponsor me!
Cheers & many thanks for you kind support,
Jeremy
