In memory of Ken ‘Our Kid’ Phillips
Story
Originally from Lancashire, Ken left the moors for London and in 1983 ‘Our Kid’ joined The Metropolitan Police Force where he went on to achieve great things and has accurately been described as an East London Policing Legend by numerous people. He was ferociously loyal and protective of all the teams he worked with and never backed down!
During his time with The Metropolitan Police Force, Our Kid enjoyed an extremely high level of fitness and developed a passion for road cycling and racing, resulting in him becoming a National Champion in 2001.
In retirement he enjoyed numerous trips abroad, in particular annual trips to the Tour de France. More recently Our Kid had spent many trips researching areas of the UK whilst deciding where to live upon Klara's retirement and had many more such trips planned.
Sadly his life was cut far too short when he passed away completely unexpectedly on Saturday 09 October 2021 of pulmonary emboli.
