My dad (Mike Bacon) was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 2020 and had an operation which was deemed successful. Very soon afterwards, his cancer had spread and he died within 9 days of a terminal diagnosis on the 1st November 2020.

St Margaret’s Hospice in Somerset cared for dad during his last few days giving him comfort and peace at such a sad time. They were the light in the darkness. 

The London Marathon has been an ambition of mine and I’ve now got the chance to make a difference to the hospice that made a difference to him and us - his family. A thank you and a way to payback so others can benefit from their care.

1 in 3 people in Somerset will need their support in their lifetime.

£10 = could pay for transporting a patient to and from their Sunflower Day Care Centres.  

£100 = could pay for a Specialist Community Nurse to visit a local patient being cared for at home.

£500 = could pay for 24 hours of in-patient care for a patient.
