This June we want you to take part in Best foot forward for kidney patients, walk or run 60,000 steps, this can be done over the month, in one week or even a day. The 60,000 steps represents the 60,000 kidney patients transplanted or on dialysis.

Story

In September 2015, when I was 3 and Oliver was just 9 weeks old, our Daddy was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure with no warning. His kidneys were at 2% and needed to be dialysed straight away. He was on dialysis at Southend Hospital for ten months and then was lucky enough to have a transplant at the Royal London Hospital on 22 July 2016. Our very brave uncle Graham gave him one of his kidneys. Since then Daddy has been very healthy and hopefully it'll continue that way. Although he has had his transplant, it's not a cure and he will always be a kidney patient. He has to have regular blood tests and check ups to monitor his kidney and he will probably need another transplant later on in life.

We want to help the NKF raise money for all kidney patients and so we are taking part in their Best Foot Forward campaign. We have to walk 60,000 steps in June and we have decided only the steps we do as a family will count! The 60,000 steps represents the 60,000 kidney patients transplanted or on dialysis.

Please consider sponsoring us! We would be very grateful and it'll make us so happy that we are helping an amazing charity whose funds have been impacted massively by the pandemic.

Love Jessica and Oliver xxx
