Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I will be taking part in two challenges.
My first challenge is to complete 'Tough Mudder' on the 14th June. For those who have never heard of 'Tough Mudder' it is a 12 mile obstacle course designed by the British Special Forces and has obstacles that involve freezing cold water, 8ft high fences, fire, electric shocks & lots of mud! Shouldn't be too difficult then! (Here is a link for 'Tough Mudder' video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIDRWPDvyXc )
My second challenge is to complete the Glasgow Mens 10k on the 15th June....the day after 'Tough Mudder'! Again, hardly a challenge!!!
All of the money raised will be donated to SANDS.
SANDS supported us through their bereavement support network, when we were trying to come to terms with the loss of our baby twin daughter Jessica Emma, who was born asleep on the 11th April 2012.
SANDS has a nationwide group of local networks run by bereaved parents to support anyone affected by the loss of a baby. Our local network, Glasgow SANDS is part of this network and 75% of your donations will be used to support their work. It is also the most efficient way to donate: SANDS will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 25% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you. The Gift Aid is used to support SANDS work across the UK.
SANDS also fund research to try and reduce the high number of stillbirths and neonatal deaths that happen in the UK. Statistics show that the UK has one of the highest stillbirth rates in the developed world with 17 babies being stillborn or dying shortly after birth every single day.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks again for taking the time to read this.
