As most of you know I am a Nurse working at Leeds General Infirmary. One of my colleagues set up a charity called Eating Stones Fund, in order to support the training and education of vitally important nurses in rural Kenya. They also work to support the development of more effective healthcare systems in some of the most challenging environments to live.
Eating Stones have been working in Kenya for nearly 15 years and pride themselves on working with locals to establish the best ways to develop relevant healthcare services to provide for their specific communities.
In order to raise some much-needed funds to help them continue their work I will be walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks with colleagues from across the NHS. This is a 24-mile trek which includes 5,200ft of climb, which I am aiming to complete in under 12 hours! I hope that you will support me, the team and Eating Stones Fund by donating whatever you can.
Thank you, Jess x
