5 Ferries Challenge · 14 August 2020

We’re leading the fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges. We’re here to make sure children and young people get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties. Join our fight.

Story

Thanks for visiting my just giving page!

Through my job as a PE teacher it has become increasingly obvious that more of our young people are struggling with their mental health. Worryingly, this was evident even before the isolation and uncertainty of Corona. Friends from the PE department  at St Columba’s School in Kilmacolm are hoping that by doing this charity cycle, we can raise awareness of the support that is available from the Young Minds Charity and possibly raise a little money as well.

We  also hope that the nature of the event will highlight the benefits of exercise, being in nature and the outdoors. Being part of a group and undertaking  an adventure or challenge can all have a positive impact on mental health.
