Story

At the end of 2019 Paula decided she wanted another mountain challenge, and for her there was only one mountain left to do in the UK Mount Snowdonia.

She mentioned this to Suz ( Cedric ) who immediately offered to accompany her, as word got around this amazing group of ladies formed, apart from Paula none of us had ever attempted a mountain before, and for individual reasons we couldn’t resist the challenge.

Whilst this was in the planning stages, with the local guest house being booked, we discovered that not far from the National Park was the attraction called Zip World, which boasts to be the FASTEST zip line in THE WORLD, and the LONGEST one in EUROPE.

Strapped horizontal to the safety harness, you travel at 25 miles an hour down the Penrhyn Quarry.

How could we be so close to this extraordinary attraction and not want to add it to our thrill list!

So there you have it that’s how this became a two day up and over mountain challenge 😀.

Originally we had planned to go June 2020 but for obvious reasons this wasn’t possible, and although we have endured numerous lockdowns and different restrictions, along the way we have still managed to get some training in.

Going for long walks through every seasons, gave us the opportunity to walk in thick mud, sand storms or snow, and on all terrains, wether we have met up in pairs or when allowed we’ve walked together, we have put our feet to the ground and hill climbed, run stairs climbed and walked with weighted rucksacks, we’ve continued to keep at it, begin mindful that to be able to do one of the hardest routes up the mountain we’ve got to put the training in.

It’s been a God send to have something to focus on, a reason to get out in nature 🌿, and an excuse to see good friends, yes walking has really played a great part in keeping our healthy well beings.

Unfortunately this pandemic has taken its toll on many people’s mental health, it’s something each of us ladies can relate to wether it’s suffering ourselves or knowing someone that is.

Which is why we have chosen this brilliant charity of Mid and North East Essex Mind which is here to support and empower people experiencing an emotional or mental health condition by building on their personal hopes and aspirations.

It works with children, young people and adults across the area. They  believe no one should face a mental health problems alone.

So please if you can donate any amount would be amazing, we will be sincerely grateful to each and everyone who supports us🙏.

With love from us all 💚
