Story
My wife Jo was told she had Liver disease in June 2021 by January 2022 she had died.
The following 6 months were heartbreaking and traumatic for us both. We had no understanding how serious her condition was before she was taken ill and then she died before we could get our heads around it all.
Jo was one of the most clean living people I knew, she was predominantly vegan and barely touched alcohol. This didn't stop the medical professionals around us jump to the conclusion that her liver disease was self inflicted.
Liver Trust UK raise money to research the causes of Liver Disease and treatments, which is why I am fund raising for them. I hope that one day in the future others will not have to go through the awful experience we did.
There are over 100 types of liver condition; some are rare and others can be prevented. 20% of the population is at risk of liver disease, there are many causes people don’t know about.TThe British Liver Trust provides advice and information to patients and families, campaigns and works with healthcare professionals to improve early diagnosis and patient care, raises awareness of how to look after your liver and supports research. Thank you for your support, and please don’t forget to Gift Aid your donation if you are a UK taxpayer.
