Hello!
I am taking on the massive challenge of running 26.2 miles in the 2019 Virgin London Marathon, on Sunday the 28th of April. This has been an ambition of mine for some years but more importantly, I am running to raise funds for St Elizabeth’s. This is where my youngest sister, Judi, resides. Judi was born with a chromosome abnormality resulting in developmental delay and she also has epilepsy and other needs.
St Elizabeth’s in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, is a centre comprised of a school, a childrens home, a college, and a residential home with nursing, all for those with epilepsy and other complex needs.
Judi, now aged 28, was a term-time residential pupil from the ages of 16-18 and then returned in her 20’s as an adult resident and lives there currently. She lives in a house within the complex with other adults with similar needs to her own and has 24 hour care and nursing.
She learns life skills and takes part in lots of activities and outings. She has a better social life than me and always talks about her friends when she comes home!
I am asking for your support through donations to the St Elizabeth’s charity. No matter how big or small an amount, every penny will be hugely appreciated.
Training has commenced and I will be working hard and running my socks off to earn that medal and hopefully, with your help, raise lots of money!
Thank you in advance, I will keep you updated on my training and progress.
If you would like any more info about St Elizabeth’s then please just message me. I also have some info leaflets available and may be arranging some other events to help towards my fundraising target.
