Story

Our charitable work is underpinned by enterprising fundraising and our supporters’ commitment. We know that, enthused by the belief in the transformational power of people working together, you can help us make a positive difference. Work with us to transform the lives of young people. There are so many ways to help and discover the Brathay effect that is at the heart of everything we do.

My contribution will hopefully help raise funds so Brathay Trust can continue to reach out and inspire young and vulnerable people.  As someone who spent almost 3 years in a children's home when I was just 8 years old, and was brought up in foster care, I know how difficult it is to believe in yourself when you have had no-one around to believe in you.  I have been inspired by a previous participant of this event, and as a keen runner myself, I am always looking for a new challenge, so because of the work they do, the Brathay Trust 10 marathons in 10 days challenge is just perfect for me.

We work with a wide range of young people, often with fewer opportunities in life, including those managing the transition from living in care to independence, at risk of exploitation in unhealthy relationships, needing confidence to find work or training, or facing other challenges in their lives.
