Story
Hello!
I am very excited, if perhaps a little apprehensive, to be running the London Marathon in 2019 for the NSPCC (National Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Children). In doing so I get to raise money for a cause close to my heart and also fulfil a lifetime ambition.
I decided to run for the NSPCC as I was bullied as a child. I was fortunate enough to get the help and support I needed from what I experienced, but no child should have to suffer abuse in any form.
The goal of the NSPCC is to protect children from both physical and mental abuse and prevent it so we make child abuse a thing of the past. Since having my own children the importance of achieving this goal has really resonated with me, both Benjamin and Chloe are also helping with fundraising and Benjamin has already held a cake sale at school.
My training has started in earnest and I completed a half marathon before Christmas. The winter months are no doubt going to be challenging, but your support and knowing I am raising money for the NSPCC will really spur me on.
It would mean the world to me if you are able to support the work of the NSPCC by donating via this page.
All donations greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Joanne
