BUPA Great Manchester Run 2012 · 20 May 2012 ·

Behind their smiles and slick service hospitality workers can fall upon hard times just like anybody else. Ours is a stressful industry, with long hours, high pressure environments and physically demanding work. We are here to offer financial, physical and psychological support to those who need it.

Story

One Cost has worked closely with Hospitality Action for over 6 years and is proud to name them as our nominated charity.

Hospitality Action offers vital assistance to all who work, or have worked within hospitality in the UK and find themselves in crisis. This includes people suffering from life-altering illnesses such as Parkinson’s disease, cancer and Multiple Sclerosis. It includes those experiencing poverty, bereavement and domestic violence or have sick and disabled children.

I am thrilled for the opportunity to represent One Cost in the Great Manchester Run on Sunday 20 May 2012 and can’t wait for the challenge!

I have always had a keen interest in fitness and have attended various classes over the years. Since joining Boxercise Ashton in February 2011 I have never looked back! The class is a mixture of boxing techniques, fitness training and boxing circuits and is run by my fellow One Cost colleague Kevin Hesketh. Over the last 12 months, I have learned how to box and my fitness levels have greatly improved.

I started running at the beginning of January 2012 and have been training for the Great Manchester Run ever since!
