Harper's Helpers Climb Ben Lomond 10.09.16

Harper's Helper's Climb Ben Lomond · 10 September 2016
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My daughter Harper has recently been diagnosed with a rare form of children's interstitial lung disease. Harper has not had this since birth and has lived an independent life and enjoyed being on the go and participating in activities with her friends.
Then out of the blue she lost her spark and zest for life. Initially doctors told me it was a virus. However I was not convinced with this and as we were reaching 6 weeks of Harper bring like this we eventually got seen at the hospital and we were told that it was constipation. She was treated for this and by the end of that week I decided that there was no improvement in her condition and we went back to the hospital.
After having an X-ray we were informed that she had silent pneumonia and after two courses of antibiotics over two weeks we were informed that the medication had done all it could!! After several weeks in hospital we were informed that Harper had a rare form of interstitial lung disease. However there are 200 forms of this disease and Harper is still receiving tests to define her diagnosis, this recently included a lung biopsy which we don't have the results of.
Since going into hospital and latterly coming home Harper has required to be on oxygen 24/7 and will remain on this indefinitely or until further progression is made with her diagnosis!!
So due to Harper's journey that she continues to travel through as she is only at the begining. Some of Harper's Helpers ( x5) have decided to raise awareness and funds for chILD on 10th September 2016 by climbing Ben Lomond. This will hopefully assist with further research into Children's interstitial lung disease. This in turn will hopefully enable all children experiencing this condition and embracing their journey to do so with a bit more ease, comfort, hope and aspirations and to leave their foot prints on the journey that they call life.
