Story
At 5 months old our beautiful daughter Erin had multiple hospital admissions, with a diagnosis of pneumonia and bronchiolitis. After failing to fully recover, Erin was eventually transferred to the Royal London hospital where a CT scan picked up a complex congenital heart defect, and large mass in her lung. Three weeks later she was transferred to GOSH, and over another three weeks had various investigations which thankfully found the mass to be benign. Erin subsequently had open heart surgery, and treatment for her lung at GOSH. She remains under their amazing care, and we are incredibly lucky to be able to say that she is now a three year old whirlwind dinosaur obsessive.
There aren't the words to thank all the NHS staff and volunteers, and our friends and family who helped us through such a difficult time. GOSH is a testament to our incredible NHS and has given Erin a wonderful future.
GOSH is an inspiring place. When you spend time there you begin to appreciate the difference it makes to so many people, many of them who are going through exceptionally challenging times, often living a parent's greatest fears.
I decided I wanted to do something to contribute to GOSH, so thought doing the Ride London 100 fundraising event would be perfect. Unfortunately it was cancelled this year because of Covid19. After a solid 15 months of training I'm now ready to ride 100 miles, and so have decided to undertake the challenge independently in September. Please donate a little money to GOSH in sponsorship of my ride and help look after the most vulnerbale children and their families who are going through some of their darkest days.
