We care for seriously ill adults & children to help them 'Make every day count'

Dear friends and family,

My father, Tony, passed away on 21st February 2021. He was an extraordinary man and unfortunately, he was taken from us far too soon because of COVID-19.

Many people will know my father for playing in bands, such as the Angelic Upstarts and Long Tall Shorty. He was so much more than a musician though. He was one of the kindest and funniest people I've ever met, and certainly the best father anyone could wish for. It's not an exaggeration to say I idolised him.

As devastating as it was to lose him in such an untimely manner, it's time something positive came out of this pandemic. That's why I'm raising money for Havens Hospices, in memory of my father, and for the millions of others who have suffered because of this appalling virus.

Starting on 18th February 2022, I will be walking from Eastbourne Marina to Tulse Hill, south London. The walk is approximately 60 miles and will be completed in three days, to coincide with the first anniversary of his passing.

This journey holds immense personal significance to my father. The last place he lived at before he died was Eastbourne Marina, and the first place he lived at was Tulse Hill. He also loved walking, so this challenge has very much been devised with him in mind.

I will be joined on the walk by my good friends, Max Rafuse and Tom Judge, for the full 60 miles. My wife, Kristina, will also be joining me for approximately 40 miles of the journey.

Havens Hospices is an amazing charity operating in Essex, providing palliative care to babies, children, young adults and adults in the area. The pandemic has had a devastating impact on the finances of local charities. I'm determined to therefore raise as much money as I can for such a wonderful cause.

Thank you very much for reading this page. Any contributions - large or small - will be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Joe Morrison
