In February I’m going to volunteer for 10 weeks in Nicaragua. I’m doing this through the government funded International Citizen Service (ICS), a scheme which brings young people together to fight poverty in overseas communities, and inspire active citizenship when they return.

I will be working with Raleigh International, a sustainable development charity which works in some of the poorest regions in the world. The project I'm working on will help to improve health, sanitation, and natural resource management. Nicaragua is among the poorest countries in the Americas and many rural communities, who depend on subsistence farming, are being hit by the effects of climate change.

I need to raise £800 to help continue the good work being done by Raleigh in the developing world, and help more young people from the UK go overseas and make a lasting impact. 

My project will help to provide a sustainable supply of water, and education about the importance of sanitation. Every donation will make a real and tangible difference to people in developing countries, so feel free to be as generous as you like!
