I am raising money in memory of my mother Pet Saffold who passed away in June of 2022.  She suffered for many years with the awful disease that slowly robbed her of her ability to do the things she loved and eventually left her completely bed ridden.

My mother was a vibrant woman who loved to spend time with family and friends, loved her church, to garden, cook and take daily walks. At the beginning of her diagnosis she was able to do all her activities only some days was she hindered by Lupus side effects.  But over a span of 10 years she went from being a vibrant outgoing woman to homebound shell of herself but during this time she continued to be positive even days when she couldn't get out of bed.  Here's the awful thing about Lupus there were times she felt great for weeks but then out of nowhere she would be in so much pain she could not open her hands to hold a cup of coffee.

My mother Pet Saffold died from complications of Lupus on June 19th 2022.  I hope that the money raised from your donations will help find raise awareness and fund research to better understand and find cures for this awful disease that took my mother.
