I have wanted to do an Ironman triathlon for many years and finally plucked up the courage to sign up for Ironman Wales 2020. For anyone who doesn’t know, an Ironman is a 2.4 mile open water swim, 112 mile bike ride and then 26.2 mile run (marathon) to finish. This must all be done on the same day! This is my perfect midlife crisis🤪 Covid had other ideas and due to cancellations etc, I am still waiting! I now have a place on the beach to start Ironman Wales 2022 in September where I will finally get my chance to face the Dragon 🐉 I am raising money for Place2Be because mental health is very close to my heart. I want to prove to myself and my loved ones that despite setbacks and self doubt, anything is possible. I hope to make my family proud of me and inspire the pupils that I teach that if you set your mind to something and work hard, you can achieve amazing things💫 I want to raise awareness of mental health issues and break the stigma that surrounds mental health. Depression and anxiety can be a very lonely place and by just starting a conversation with someone who is having a bad day, you could be making a huge difference. Be kind.
