Story

Hellllooooooo……

In August 2011, I was diagnosed with a Carcinoid Tumour, a form of cancer situated in my appendix. This was removed in November 2011 and just 10 months later I ran my first ever half marathon.

Now, almost 4 years on and having since seen a number of brave fellow-sufferers lose their fight against this horrible disease, I'm challenging myself again to get my head down, work hard and make the most of my good fortune in being alive.

On October 11th, I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon, a scenic city run through the heart of London, the city in which I have lived and worked for many years now.

Having experienced at first hand the amazing work that Bowel Cancer UK does, I can tell you your money will be put to an extremely good cause. With a small but dedicated team, BCUK works tirelessly to raise the profile of the (easily curable if caught early) disease and to fund research and support for its victims.

Their ground-breaking #NeverTooYoung campaign is also particularly close to my heart, raising awareness of the disease in younger patients who are often mis-diagnosed and therefore left too late.
