Sands is the charity speaking up about pregnancy and baby loss, saving babies’ lives and supporting bereaved families. Together, we are saving babies’ lives and improving maternity safety and bereavement care through research, training and campaigning.

Story

I've signed up to run 50 miles this March, in memory of Hadley for Sands Charity.

Sands are a really special charity who who work to support families who have lost a baby. They also work with health care professionals and the government to raise awareness and fund research to try and save babies lives in the future.

We've had a lot of contact and support from Sands in the past few years. This started when we were in hospital and then continued when I met other parents in their online community, both after we lost Hadley and in the Sands pregnancy group before Ezra was born. Some of those people Sands introduced me to have become friends who I've met up with or plan to in the future. We have also travelled to the Midlands to visit the Sands memorial garden and Rob plays for the Sands United football team that supports bereaved dads.

50 miles seems like quite a lot but with 31 days I should hopefully be able to finish them off at the end of the month and on Hadley's birthday 💗
